Two Hallways
Some dreams rock on into eternity.
For Stian, that came true.
Two Hallways stands as a final, uncompromising legacy — from a father, grandfather, brother, friend, and colleague, taken far too soon on September 6, 2025.
At the top of this gentle rocker’s list was the dream of releasing his own music on vinyl. The day before he passed away, Stian sent a message to his children:
“Now it’s getting exciting. Mastering and cover art have been sent to production.”
Two Hallways became his one and only solo project. A lifelong dream realized. A cherished memory for all who remain.
The album grew out of a turning point Stian reached at sixty.
“I could have continued as before, but I didn’t want to. I wanted to move toward the light — to choose the road that brought joy.”
He didn’t have time to say much more about the album. But those closest to him could see that Stian was living his very best life in his final years.
About the album
Two Hallways brings together the full arc of Stian’s musical journey — his love for the distinctive. The melodic riffs. The darkness within rock. From the images on the cover to the guitar solos, every element of the project was created by Stian.
Two Hallways is a tribute to life and to dreams. To daring to face one’s own darkness — and rising again.
Stian’s rock dream lives on
Two Hallways was more than just an album. It was an artistic project, and as always, Stian went all in. He planned a behind-the-scenes film documenting the process of making the record. He didn’t get the chance to finish it, but he captured what mattered most — the minutes when he submitted the songs and cover art for production.
A moment best described as quiet applause — and immense joy.
More than just an album…
Video will be added here soon.
A kind rocker and a creative original, is perhaps the best way to describe Stian. A man with a generous heart, deeply devoted to his family, to nature, and to music.
He grew up in the 1960s, during the years when The Beatles and The Rolling Stones topped the charts and helped shape a new youth culture. For Stian, the love of rock and guitars truly took hold when he picked up his first bass guitar at the age of seventeen.
Music remained a constant throughout his life. Although he never became a full-time rocker, he never let go of the passion. He shared it with friends Trond, Vidar, and Thore in the band Edle deler, who played together for an impressive 26 years. Together with his best friend Kevin, he also formed the rock/pop duo SLOW which released songs such as MONSTER and Nowfade — the latter released shortly after Stian passed away.
Alongside the music, Stian built a solid professional life. He became an IT architect and spent 21 years at NetNordic, where he thrived and was a highly respected colleague.
After June 2025, he looked forward to retirement — a chapter he referred to as “life’s summer holiday.” Now he would be a father, grandfather, and musician full time. A joy he was able to experience for a few precious months.
Stian is remembered as a cool rock dad and father-in-law who always cheered from the sidelines, inspiring others with his optimism and courage to follow his own dreams. A pillar of strength and a role model for his younger sister, Marianne. And a warm, caring friend and colleague — someone it was truly good to be around.
He was the very best we could have asked for.
